Definisi hak paten adalah perlindungan HKI bagi karya intelektual yang bersifat teknologi atau dikenal dengan istilah invensi dan mengandung pemecahan atau solusi teknis terhadap masalah yang terdapat pada teknologi sebelumnya. Jadi paten masih berhubungan dengan industri kreatif & teknologi.
